First I sell Real Estate and drive to approx 20-30 houses a week. I originaly bought the 3140 because it has multi-point mapping which means I can input 20 houses at once and it will map to all of them at one time and in the most efficient order from the starting point. Ok here we go… one day after I bought it I was showing houses and the car charger cord stopped working and the 3140 battery died immediately. It takes several days of driving before it will fully charge by the way. Battery life 3 hours non-charger. I thought oh well that happens. I called Magellan and argued with the rep while I was calm just to get a new cord. No. 2 charger cord….died 1 week later. I'm currently on my third charger cord. 8 out of 10 (I kept track trust me) houses the 3140 said "You have arrived" and I was at the wrong house and sometimes as far away as 2 blocks. I was showing houses 1 week ago and had to figure out how to get to a street that the 3140 mapped to the wrong street. The maps are old and I tried to update the maps but you can't per magellan. Each time I called Magellan I could not understand the rep. I am not happy with the 3140 at all and plan to complain to the highest level at Magellan. I will not purchase another GPS from them ever. I hope this helps anyone considering buying from Magellan.
Pro : Blue-tooth works well.
Con : Where do I start. 8 of 10 times stoped at wrong address.

I bought this as my first GPS unit.
I wondered how steep the learning curve would be, but realized it was relatively easy to use.
I have owned it for a year and have yet to have any problems.
Addresses are easy to find and input when making a route. They can also be simulated for accuracy if you so desire.
The map data is accurate from the 3rd quarter of 2006. I just recently used it in Canada, and found a new highway that opened up but was not on the unit.
Except for that one instance, I have yet to have it NOT find an address I input.
Some of the addresses may be up to 100 yards off I have discovered, but not many. If you are in an area with many building huddled together, this could be frustrating, BUT they do put numbers on the outside of buildings, so that has never hindered me.

These two flaws are ALSO evident on units owned by coworkers: a Garmin Nuvi 650 and a TomTom One.

Overall I am very happy with this unit.
I have no idea why some of these ratings are so low.
Maybe these people could never set the clock on their VCR's either…
Pro : Bluetooth,AAA help,feature packed,very bright
Con : Battery lasts 1 hour, not big finger friendly

I bought this GPS because it was on sale and because I didn't know much about these navigational aides I didn't want to spend too much until I got to know about them better. Well I learned very quickly I should have stuck with my five dollar paper map. The maps in this thing are pathetic. The sub-division I live in has been in existence for thirty years yet do not exist in this GPS.
Several attempts to have it plan the fastest route to a destination only ends in frustration. So today I decided to let go of my anger with this thing, chalked up the lost of 250 bucks as just one of life's lessons then proceeded to donate this piece of crap to a landfill site.
Pro : Easy to use
Con : Poor maps and routing system

I CAN NOT STRESS ENOUGH THAT NO MATTER WHAT… DO NOT BUY A MAGELLAN PRODUCT. IF IT NEEDS ANY SERVICE WORK YOU WILL NOT GET IT SO FORGET IT!!!! IT DOES NOT WORK WELL AND IT IS A PIECE OF JUNK. SAVE YOURSELF TIME AND MONEY. I COULD NOT GET THEM TO FIX MY UNIT EVEN THOUGH IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY AND THEY ARE ALWAYS SORRY. THEY WILL TELL YOU ANYTHING JUST TO SHUT YOU UP AND HAVE YOU GO AWAY.
Pro : NONE
Con : NO CUSTOMER SERVICE/ UNRELIABLE

This is my 2nd Magellan and most likely my last. It is a good unit but after 6 months the battery won't hold a charge.
I had a problem with my first Magellan unit and it was fixed under warranty but only after 2 or 3 calls to people who could not understand english or my problem. I finally got a RMA number and went it back. It is still working 7 months later. But with the Maestro, I now have to send it back to have the battery replaced after only 6 months.
Pro : Easy to use
Con : Battery would not hold charge after 6 months

My problems with the Magellen units has been on going since April 2007. Maps are over 2 years old and often times useless when a road is closed due to an accident or whatever.
Programming leaves a lot to be desired. Change your course and for what seems like an eternity, it keeps telling you to make a U turn.
I had a list of complaints that have been given to Magellan Customer Service but the Customer service at Magellan leaves something to be desired as does the companies management. After getting nowhere I sent mail to Nelson Chan CEO of Magellan. The first letter finally got customer service moving but for the last 3+ months I've been stalled waiting for a management decision and each request for status has been responded with a standard "we will forward this to the appropriate department".
A 2nd letter went to Mr. Chan in November that has gone unanswered. I guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
Pro : Bluetooth
Con : Programming needs help
